The Indo Algeria Economic Cooperation Council was established in 2015 as a non-profit organization under a private initiative, aimed at helping businesspersons from both sides to enhance and promote Economic / Commercial exchanges between the two sides.
The motivation behind the above development was the current level of bilateral trade, which is seen as well below its potential. Besides, establishment of the Council seeks to fill the gap of not having a Council dedicated to an important trading partner of India like Algeria.
The Economic Council proposes to correct the above position by acting as a bridge between business persons from the two sides, facilitating contacts and promoting greater understanding of the business climate and emerging opportunities in both Algeria and India, through holding of seminars, exhibitions and exchange of delegations.

The Economic Council is making efforts to establish close working relations with Economic Ministries in India, other Chambers of Commerce and a cross section of Indian business / industrial houses. At the Algeria end, the Council aims at developing ties with parallel organizations in order to keep Algerian entities informed of Indian market conditions and opportunities.
The promoters of the India Algeria Economic Cooperation Council are confident that the Council could play an important role in enhancing business between the two countries through increased trade, greater investment flows and transfer of technology.
The Council has its office in the prestigious Vasant Vihar colony of New Delhi.
